Dashi

Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 16, 2026

Dashi is a household communications service operated by Aequitas Labs (“Dashi,” “we,” “us”). Dashi gives your household a shared phone number and email address and organizes the messages that arrive at them. By its nature, the service handles your household’s communications — so we want to be plain about what we collect, why, and what we will never do with it.

What we collect

  • Account information. Your name, email address, and household membership details when you sign up or accept an invitation.
  • Message contents. Emails, SMS messages, voicemails (audio and transcripts), and call metadata sent to your household number or email alias. Storing and displaying these is the core of the service.
  • Content you create. Tasks, lists, calendar events, labels, and internal household chat messages.
  • Payment information. Payments are processed by Stripe. We receive your subscription status and the last four digits of your card; we never see or store your full card number.
  • Usage and device data. Basic logs (such as sign-in events and errors) and push notification tokens, used to operate and secure the service.

How we use your data

  • To provide the service. Receiving, storing, and delivering your household’s messages, tasks, and events to household members.
  • AI triage. Message contents are processed by a third-party large language model provider to classify each message (verification code, action item, event, or FYI) and extract details like dates and amounts. This processing happens only to organize your inbox. We contract with providers on terms that prohibit them from using your content to train their models.
  • Notifications. Sending push notifications and emails you have enabled.
  • Security and support. Detecting abuse, debugging problems, and responding when you contact us.

What we never do

  • We do not sell your data. Not message contents, not contact lists, not metadata.
  • We do not use your messages for advertising or build advertising profiles.
  • We do not read your messages except as needed to operate the service, investigate abuse, or with your explicit permission during a support request.

Who we share data with

We share data only with service providers who help us run Dashi, and only what they need to do their job: telephony carriers (to route calls and SMS), email infrastructure, cloud hosting and storage, our LLM provider (for message classification), Stripe (for payments), and push notification services. We may also disclose data if required by law or to protect the safety of our users. We do not share your data with anyone else.

Your household

Dashi is a shared product. Messages sent to your household number or email address are visible to all members of your household, as are tasks, events, and household chat. Only invite people you trust with that access.

Retention and deletion

We keep your data for as long as your household account is active. When you delete your account, your household’s messages, voicemails, attachments, tasks, events, and chat history are permanently deleted from our systems. Some residual copies may persist in encrypted backups for a limited period before being purged. Billing records are retained as required by law.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Access to production systems is restricted and logged. No system is perfectly secure, but we treat your household’s communications with the care we would want for our own.

Your rights

You can access and export your data from within the app, correct your account information, and delete your account at any time. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA — contact us and we will honor them.

Children

Dashi is intended for adults managing a household. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify you by email or in the app before they take effect.
